PHOENIX (AP) — Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said he’s not requiring a first-round pick in a potential trade sending four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets but added he’d want “fair value.”Gutekunst was asked Monday at the NFL annual meeting if there was any way in which he could feel comfortable trading Rodgers without getting a first-round pick in return.“Yeah, I think that’s not a necessity,” Gutekunst told reporters. “But at the same time, the value of the player – he’s a premier player, so getting premier picks back for (premier) players is important.”Gutekunst and Jets general manager Joe Douglas both discussed trade talks involving the 39-year-old Rodgers, who said March 15 during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on SiriusXM and YouTube that he intends to play for the Jets in 2023. Rodgers remains under contract with Green Bay but said he wanted the Packers to “do the right thing.”“There’s been some productive conversations. (AP) — A former student shot through the doors of a Christian elementary school and killed three children and three adults after elaborately planning the massacre by drawing out a detailed map and conducting surveillance of the building, police said. The massacre at The Covenant School in Nashville was the latest in a series of mass shootings in a country that has grown increasingly unnerved by bloodshed in schools. The victims included three 9-year-old children, the school’s top administrator, a substitute teacher and a custodian. Amid the chaos a familiar ritual played out: Panicked parents rushed to the school to see if their children were safe and tearfully hugged their kids, and a stunned community planned vigils for the victims. “I was literally moved to tears to see this and the kids as they were being ushered out of the building,” Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief Jo...Landslide in Ecuador kills at least 16, with dozens missing

A Toronto man alleges a Canada Post employee forged his late mother’s signature to deliver a registered letter.Last week, Jeff Green received a letter in his mailbox addressed to his mother. It was a piece of registered mail meaning the sender paid an extra $9.75 to require a signature and confirmation receipt upon delivery, but Green did not sign for it.When he inquired with Canada Post, he was sent a receipt that appeared to show his mother’s name and signature. The name, however, was misspelled and the signature looked obviously fraudulent to Green. But the most disturbing part for him was that his mother actually passed away last July.“I don’t even know what words to describe,” said Green. “It’s offensive. It’s disappointing, you know. It’s criminal.”It is also not the first time this has happened to him.Nine years ago, Green spoke to CityNews after receiving his passport in the mail without signing for it. The Canada Post record showed an unfamiliar name and signature. At the tim...Latest news
