Albany celebrates Bike to Work Day, encourages alternatives to cars ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The City of Albany spent the day highlighting alternative options for transportation on their annual Bike to Work Day. Sheriff’s deputy shoots man suspected of setting vehicle on fire in Grand Junction Sheriff’s deputies shot a man suspected of setting a vehicle on fire at his property in Grand Junction in western Colorado, and on Thursday a team of investigators was preparing to look into what happened, according to Grand Junction police.Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to calls that a man who lived in the 2900 block of Sandra Avenue started the fire around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, the police said in a news release. Firefighters came to put out the fire. When deputies tried to contact the man, “an officer-involved shooting occurred,” the police said.Firefighters took the man to a hospital. No information on his condition was released.The deputy has been placed on paid leave, police said.
